Meet G.C. Wes
“The mind and body are intimately connected. Taking care of one is essential for taking care of the other.”
What I Do:
As a Certified Professional Master Life Coach and Certified Personal Trainer, I apply my training to young men hoping to develop their mind and body. In this new world where everyone’s opinion can be heard via TikTok, the water has never been muddier when it comes to best health practices, making it easier than ever to be bogged down by the sheer amount of advice we receive. I serve to ensure my clients fight the bog and are taking action toward their personal goals and building practices that will serve them lifelong.
It is long known that we are social creatures. Because of this, our physical and mental well-being often wanes when we do not feel connected to the world. Finding healthy social outlets that make us feel valued is the last but not least piece of the puzzle. Once those pieces are in place, my clients achieve confidence in their ability to care for their mental and physical health as well as a newfound connection to the world that enables them to uphold their progress.
How I Do That:
Think of me as an accountant for personal development. My clients have physical and mental wellness goals. Our regular meetings will ensure they reach them and maintain them. In each session, we will focus on progressing the mind and body, often at the same time (they’re surprisingly hard to separate). This may be a walk in a local park while reflecting on an argument with a friend, or G.C. Wes keeping motivation high while they hit a new personal best in the gym. The goal is to perform/learn/find physical activity that the client finds interesting or exciting. That is what will encourage us, as people, to remain active. I strive to meet clients at their current stage of personal development and help them take the next step forward in their goals.
Once that mental and physical foundation of health is laid, I work with my clients to find opportunities that connect them to the world. This may be done through community events, volunteering, or support groups. I will be there to support them through those experiences and to help reflect upon what worked and what didn’t work. My clients and I learn together. I believe the interreliance of mental, physical, and social health has never been as important as it is today for young men, and collaboratively, we find what that balance looks like for themselves.

Why I Choose to Be a Coach:
I have two reasons for this.
I see a need for a solution to the increasing mental and physical health issues young men face today. Unchecked, this indicates a larger problem for future generations of not only men, but every wife, mother, sibling, child, and friend with a man in their life.
I want to have children of my own one day and I want them to be welcomed into this world by thoughtful, stress-resilient, and overall healthy people. This is my way of nudging the needle in that direction.
Brief Background:
In terms of events that led to me being a coach, I’ve worked with teenagers on the Autism spectrum as a Registered Behavior Technician, lived/ worked on a community farm for individuals with special needs and I also hold an in-person talk group for young men in Southlake, TX. These experiences, among others (that I’d love to share with you when we meet), taught me the importance of the principles below.
